LML
When I first heard of the saying “FML” it took a while to sink it. It implies that there is nothing you can do but suffer through whatever the wind blows your way. Is this really how some people think? How sad for them.
FML forced me to look at my own life. There have been many, many difficult events that I have had to work through. I wouldn’t change anything. The most trying times have ended up being the best for my growth as a person and have challenged me to work harder. I don’t exactly look forward to the valleys, but I can tell when they’re coming and I envision myself with a tennis racquet on the court, shifting from side to side, ready for the serve.
Back in 2014 it was an especially challenging year on a multitude of levels. At one point we ended up in a rental home but it turned out to be larger than the one we sold and in a wonderful neighborhood. As we were unpacking, my mother noticed that there was a lemon tree in our backyard. We had an abundance of lemons that we used in several dishes per week. And it turns out, they have a variety of medicinal purposes. There have been many significant difficulties since then and yet, I Love my Life. Blow all you want wind, whatever is left will be better than what was before.
